Artistic Director: Whitney Christopher King has been teaching children’s theatre for over 20 years.
Whitney is an Atlanta based actor/director/producer/writer and has been working professionally in television, film, and theater since she was a kid. She has done over 50 commercials and industrial films, and has performed in or directed over 75 plays and musicals.
Whitney’s experiences have enabled her to positively impact the lives of hundreds of students each year. She has a passion for instilling self confidence in kids and enjoys seeing them grow and gain confidence in themselves as both actors and individuals.
Whitney’s recent credits include Will Trent, a recurring as Rose Lawson on the CW’s Black Lightning, The Vampire Diaries, The Spectacular Now, and A Madea Christmas. She is an awarding winning filmmaker and is currently writing and producing a Web Series.
She started out performing with a professional children’s theatre company and graduated to their teaching staff and on their board of directors. She also had a seat on the board of directors for the Atlanta Chapter of “Women in Film.”
Whitney taught at North Springs High School where she originated their Performing Arts Magnet Program and still keeps in touch with many of her students.
While working on her own acting career Whitney discovered she loved helping others navigate the business of “show biz.” She was a partner with “On Screen Artist Management” were she was instrumental in helping actors secure jobs in television and film on the east and west coast.
Her love of improvisation started early. She toured with the popular improv troupe “New & Improv’d.” and continues to train in improv, and is a current member of the group “Playing in Traffic” She also studies at The Company Acting Studio in their Master Class program She enjoyed her apprenticeship with Master Teacher Lisina Stoneburner as well as being on their teaching staff.
